During World War II and the Chinese Civil War, the U.S. supplied a lot of military aid to the Chinese Nationalist Air Force. As many Chinese Nationalist Air Force pilots opposed the Civil War, some flew their aircrafts to the Communist side. Thus the Chinese People’s Liberation Army got many Mustang fighters. 9 of those Mustangs took part in the military parade at the PRC founding ceremony.
